4th Lucerne Nerve and Muscle Ultrasound Teaching Course LuNUT

It's our great pleasure to announce the fourth Lucerne Nerve‐ and Muscle Ultrasound Teaching Course (LuNUT), which will take place March 23th and 24th 2018.

As with our previous teaching courses, Prof Einar Wilder Smith, senior consultant, Kantonsspital Lucerne Switzerland, University Medical Centre, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University Singapore and PD Dr. Alexander Grimm (DEGUM instructor), senior consultant, University of Tübingen,Germany, as well as our local anaesthesist senior consultant Dr. David Lorenzana (SGUM tutor) who will guide you through the rapidly evolving application of ultrasound in neuromuscular disorders.

This year, we will start off with lectures on basic and advanced anatomy before covering lectures on nerve entrapments, dysimmune and hereditary neuropathies and the application of muscle ultrasound Dr. Anne-Kathrin Peyer (senior consultant, Lucerne Kantonsspital) in neuromuscular diseases. We are happy to welcome again as guest speakers senior consultant PD Dr. Maurizio Calcagni, University Hospital of Zurich and Dr. Andreas Knoll, member of Prof R. König’s group, University of Ulm, Günzburg, on the topics of surgical managment of nerve entrapments and intraoperative High Resolution Ultrasound.

We welcome all interested neurologists (resident or specialist), neuropediatricians, radiologists, anesthetists and peripheral nerve surgeons etc. to participate at the course. Emphasis is on practical teaching lessons studying normal and pathological findings (invited patients).

The number of participants is limited to 20 participants in order to ensure a high learning effect (3-4 participants per unit and teacher).
